Dodge & Chrysler TB Relearn

Dodge & Chrysler TB Relearn

Throttle Position Relearn Instructions for Dodge & Chrysler Vehicles.

  1. Turn the Ignition Key to the “ON” Position: Do not start the engine. Just turn the ignition to the “ON” position, where the dashboard lights come on.
  2. Wait for 10 Seconds: Allow the throttle body to perform its initialization. You may hear a slight humming or clicking noise from the throttle body during this time.
  3. Press the Accelerator Pedal Slowly: Press the accelerator pedal slowly all the way to the floor, and then slowly release it back to the resting position.
  4. Turn the Ignition Key to the “OFF” Position: Turn the key back to the “OFF” position and wait for at least 10 seconds.
  5. Start the Engine: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes without pressing the accelerator. The idle speed may vary during this time as the engine control module (ECM) relearns the throttle position.
  6. Test Drive: Take the vehicle for a test drive to ensure that the throttle response is smooth and consistent. Additional Steps (if required)

If the manual procedure does not work, a diagnostic tool might be required to perform the throttle relearn. In that case, you would need a scan tool that has the capability to perform a throttle body relearn procedure.

If the vehicle is still experiencing issues after the relearn, it might be necessary to check for any stored trouble codes or issues with the throttle body or associated wiring.
